What we do

Passionfruit is the world’s fastest growing marketing freelancer platform. We’ve raised $13.3m across a seed round and recently a Series A round from top VCs in Europe and the US (firstminute, FJ Labs, Playfair, Seaya) to change how people and businesses work — and we’re just getting started.

Initially our customers were seed stage startups, but nowadays we are also partners with scale-ups (Miro, Mixpanel etc) and global brands like PepsiCo, Mars and Speedo as well.

In a nutshell we are creating a genuine and robust alternative to full time work, by creating a platform for anyone who wants to work, learn and earn as a freelancer.

Right now, 70% of freelancers are men over the age of 45. This is because they are the ones who typically have the relationships and Rolodexes to get consistent well paying work as a business of one.

For the rising generation of workers, freelancing is a pipe dream or at best a hard slog. Even for the well connected that do “go freelance”, it’s an unpredictable life. Many try and end up having to return to full time work.

Passionfruit exists to make that freelance career choice sustainable and rewarding for everyone who wants it, long term.

To make that happen, we have a huge challenge on the other side of our marketplaces: to change the way that businesses operate their talent bases.

For various reasons, we’ve started by focussing on marketing departments. Today, these departments have two muscles they know: full time hiring and agencies. Both are broken— agencies are incredibly expensive, demand annual retainers and unless you’re paying the most or complaining the loudest, the work is not always great, meanwhile full time hiring is frozen for now and there is scar tissue around future hiring after mass layoffs in the last 3 years.

Passionfruit, for businesses, exists to give them a third way to run talent in their teams: an agile talent layer which lets them plug and play specialist freelance marketing talent into their teams as and when they need them. This is both more efficient (teams are the size they need to be) and more impactful (teams have the correct skill sets they need).

Consistently, in our early customer conversations we see this message resonate and, once they start using it, their usage of our platform scales massively. The next step we have to solve is how we have more of those first conversations and then transform ourselves into a critical partner to brands across the USA.

What the job involves is simply to harness outreach (LinkedIn and email primarily), your personal brand (built through LinkedIn) and network through social channels, events and community to unlock initial conversations with Senior Marketers in the US and the UK, and get “bums on seats” at our events which ultimately generate meetings.

Who You Are

  • Someone who gets where the world of Marketing is heading and wants to be at the forefront of that change
  • Someone who's keen to get to grips with our customer persona and is obsessed (with a sportsperson-like hustle) by getting Passionfruit in front of these people
  • A natural organiser and people-person; constantly finding ways to create new connections
  • High charisma, energy and a founder-like mindset: it’s going to require a fair bit of drive to get this off the ground
  • Obsessed with discovering new tooling (particularly in leveraging AI) and techniques (leveraging new Clay and Amplemarket, for instance) to make their efforts more efficient and high impact.
  • Keen to progress and grow within the company, with clear pathways to a senior commercial position available.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Harness outreach on LinkedIn and email primarily to ICP senior marketers in the US and UK
  2. Get ‘bums on seats’ at our sales and marketing led events (breakfasts, dinners, talks etc.) to ultimately generate meetings with our client leads
  3. Build (or expand) your personal brand (built through LinkedIn) and network through social channels, events and community to unlock initial conversations

What a Passionfruiter looks like:

  • Strategic Thinker: Understands how the SDR role fits into and drives the business goals, and supports global scaling.
  • Attention to Detail: Never make the same mistake twice. Consistently ensures you’re learning from mistakes and sharpening the pencil each time.
  • Problem-Solver: Adapts quickly to challenges, always finding new and innovative methods to reach new clients, sharing learnings and methods with the team as you go.
  • Team Player: Collaborates across teams to achieve shared goals, whilst being held accountable for delivering outcomes that move the business to the next level.
  • Lifelong Learner: Stays ahead of the game, always looking to outperform the status quo through reading, absorbing and testing without being guided on it.
  • Autonomous powerhouse: Someone that thrives on an outsized amount of independent work and trust from senior leaders.
