About The Role
As the Data Lead, your primary mission is to develop and operationalize a data strategy that accelerates Passionfruit’s journey to becoming a data-first company. This role focuses onsetting up the foundations to deliver on our product ambitions by understanding our businessgoals and collaborating closely with engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute Data Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with Passionfruit’s vision of becoming a data-first organization.
- Database and Architecture Enhancement: Assess our current database to understand its capabilities and limitations
- User-Facing Data Features: Design and build dashboards and tools that enhance the user experience by leveraging proprietary data.
- Operational Efficiency: Improve internal processes through data-driven decision-making and operational enhancements.
- Strategic Insight and Communication: Align data architecture with business objectives and effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders across various levels of technical expertise.
Ideal Skillset and Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of data science experience (predictive modelling, optimization).
- Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL techniques.
- Experience with version control (e.g., GitHub) and cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
- Strong analytical, creative, and collaborative skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Desirable
- Marketplace / marketing experience
- Experience building high quality 0-1 products
- Experience launching productionized machine learning models at scale.
- Exposure to functional languages like Go, Rust, Haskell, or Clojure.
- Familiarity with Phoenix Framework, Phoenix LiveView, Surface UI, Tailwind CSS, Oban, PostgreSQL, and WebRTC.
- Knowledge of feature flags and machine learning concepts.
